The Government Law Section sponsors two continuing legal education programs during the year.  The first program of the year is typically held in February or March.  The second program of the year is generally co-sponsored with the Oregon State Bar, in the fall, at the OSB offices in Tigard.  Please send CLE topic and speaker ideas to: [email protected].

Please join the Government Law Section for its 2020 CLE event, “The Latest in Local Government Lore”, on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hotel Monaco, 506 SW Washington St., Portland.

Scholarships: The Government Law Section is offering five scholarships for law students and clerks. Scholarships will cover registration and lunch. Scholarships are available on a first come first served basis only until February 28, 2020. Please contact Eric DeFreest at [email protected] to request a scholarship no later than February 28, 2020. Please provide your name, address, phone number and bar number (if applicable). Scholarship confirmation will be sent by email.

Please join the Government Law Section for its 2019 CLE event, “Where McQuillin Leaves Off and 2019 Begins For Government Lawyers”, on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Oregon State Bar Center, Tigard.

Topics include the short term rental phenomenon, tips on working with outside investigators for personnel investigations, and limits to removing the public from a public space.
